Sometimes if you change an e-mail address in an organization under Google Apps, the old name will still appear in e-mails and other messages.  The reason for this is the Google+ profile associated with the e-mail address.  


You must change the username as well as the Google+ profile name.

If your name changes, you can update your Google+ profile name to match it. This may be helpful if you decide to go by another name for personal or professional reasons.

Important: Changing your name on Google+ will change it in all Google products. Learn about choosing your profile name.

Android app

  1. Open the Google+ app .
  2. At the top of the screen, touch your picture.
  3. Touch the menu icon/button > Edit name.
  4. Enter your preferred name > in the upper right corner, touch Save.

Computer

  1. Open Google+.
  2. In the top left corner, click the drop-down menu  > Profile .
  3. Click on your name, and enter your preferred name.
  4. In the lower right corner, click Save.

iPhone/iPad app

  1. Open the Google+ app .
  2. In the upper left corner, touch the menu icon .
  3. At the top of the screen, touch your name.
  4. In the upper right corner, touch the gear icon  > Edit name.
  5. Enter your preferred name > in the upper right corner, touch Save.

Mobile web

You can’t change your name on mobile web just yet. Please use the Google+ app or a computer instead.
